Pam Isherwood, 'Young, Angry and in Love' T-Shirt
Pam Isherwood's photograph entitled 'Young, angry and in Love' is a snapshot from the 'Stop Clause 28' march in London 1988.
Clause 28, also known as Section 28 of the Local Government Act 1988, was a piece of UK legislation that prohibited local authorities from "promoting homosexuality". This included banning them from teaching about homosexuality in schools or publishing material that supported LGBTQ+ relationships. It was in effect from 1988 to 2003 in England and Wales, and was repealed in Scotland in 2000 and the rest of the UK in 2003.
